1008   At first sight, the baby on her doorstep frightened Petunia. When she read the letter from Dumbledore, she began to sob. It was her sister, after all. Vernon analyzed the situation and he made her realize how much she used to detest her sister. But was it really realization that made her change her mind to make her nephew’s life miserable, or was it stubbornness in not being able to cope with losing her sister (both when she left for Hogwarts and when she died)? Petunia had a mental battle throughout the first eleven years she sheltered Harry, in which her husband constantly reminded her of why they treated the boy the way they did. Perhaps the real reason Petunia wanted to shield Harry from magic was because she didn’t want to lose him, too.   CREATED BY AMY

A semi-finalist match to the Quidditch World Cup between Ireland and Germany brings in a lot of fans, so when a few questionable plays are made, it leads to some pretty violent outbreaks in the stands. 1038   Unlike her sister, Narcissa Black did not hate Sirius because of his beliefs. No, it was not her cousin she despised, exactly. Cissa was never into the ‘pureblood pride’ theme. She was just a girl with dreams of romance and love and all the other fantasies of a young lady. The reason she hated Sirius was because he was sorted into Gryffindor and ruined the family name. Her parents sought desperately to reclaim pride in the name of Black and a good way to do that was to use one of their expendable daughters as bait for the other pureblood families. Andromeda refused to be a pawn, so they went for the weakest of the bunch, and Cissa was chosen to be the playmate, and eventually wife, of one Lucius Malfoy—rich in blood and wealth—but she did not love him. So why did Narcissa give up her future? Weakness is a terrible thing, but guilt is worse. The next time the two cousins meet, it isn’t over crumpets and tea.   CREATED BY AMY     Titles

No one remembers who they are, where they’re at or what they’re doing there. Show the process of the adventurous students who try to figure out all these questions and slowly come to some realization, and initially shock, at the purpose of the sticks in their possession. And does Snape’s return worsen matters or does he set everything right again?   CREATED BY AMY     Titles

After Sirius’ death and the confusion following the defeat of Voldemort, the new minister wanted to make friendly with Harry Potter by presenting him with his own Order of Merlin, along with one for Sirius. Harry, though, thought back on what his godfather had said about previous Blacks’ awards and refused to accept them, saying he was disgusted by the inscription ‘services to the Ministry’. He knew Sirius deserved one, but not for being close to Harry. The minister’s reaction is astounding, and the wizarding world is appalled—but at whom?   CREATED BY AMY

1041   As an April Fools prank, Harry slips some potion in Ron’s goblet at breakfast, intending him to make a fool of himself by falling madly in love with the first girl he saw, but Ron was not supposed to see Pansy Parkinson first. The whole day the love-struck Gryffindor fawns over Parkinson. As the potion starts to wear off, Pansy realizes that she actually enjoyed it, though she doesn’t dare show it. The following morning she begins fawning over Ron, pretending she’s now the one under the influence of magic, but Ron sees through it. He’s stunned at her approach and doesn’t quite what to make of it. This is Pansy we’re talking about.   CREATED BY AMY

1042   Hermione’s just had the worst day of her life. She received her first detention since first year for helping Ron and Harry with their potion and Snape had taken hers, saying he wouldn’t grade it. Her first mistake was experimenting with spells when she was angry. It happened so suddenly, she hadn’t realized what she did—she ended up in Potion’s class, Ron whispering to her from his table. She has to keep repeating her bad day, and the same exact things happen to her over and over again until she wises up and finally tries to do something different, but she finds that’s a lot harder than it sounds.   CREATED BY AMY

1043   Next to the Wolfsbane Potion, there have been no cures to the effects of a werewolf’s bite, but an aspiring young witch created the complete cure of werewolfism. Because it was so expensive, no werewolves could actually afford the cure, however, and the creation got little notice. Once the werewolf population started to get out of control, the Ministry bought the potion from the witch, because the cost outweighed the destruction the werewolves were causing. They made it a law that all werewolves were to receive the cure. Some were rebellious and refused to get cured. The Ministry enlists Remus Lupin as a bounty hunter to bring all the werewolves in who refuse to receive the cure, but if he takes the job, the Ministry won’t allow him to be cured himself (they don’t want him to be at a disadvantage) until the job is done—which might be years. He struggles to decide if he should do what is best and tries to convince himself that he can go a few more years knowing he could be free of the wolf. But can he?   CREATED BY AMY     Titles
